Prima surpriz\u0103 a fost conectorul PCIe x4 care era mai scurt dec\u00e2t sloturile PCIe x4 din serverul meu. Dupa pu\u0163in\u0103 cercetare pe internet am introdus placa \u00een diverse sloturi PCIe \u015fi am constatat c\u0103 func\u0163ioneaz\u0103 corect \u00een orice tip de slot (x4, x16).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"RAMSAN 20\" src=\"http:\/\/richardconsulting.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/ramsan-20.jpg\" alt=\"RAMSAN 20\" width=\"420\" height=\"210\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Apoi am instalat driverele in Windows. TMS \u00eenc\u0103 ofer\u0103 drivere actualizate prin sistemul de suport tehnic deoarece produsul este foarte nou. Am ob\u0163inut at\u00e2t driverele c\u00e2t \u015fi un upgrade de firmware la versiunea 1.2.0.0 care au condus la o func\u0163ionare foarte bun\u0103 \u00een Windows Server 2008. Am formatat \u00eentreaga capacitate de 450GB (sistemul raporteaza 420GB pe principiul c\u0103 produc\u0103torii calculeaza 1KB=1000 bi\u0163i \u00een timp de sistemele de operare calculeaz\u0103 1KB=1024 bi\u0163i &#8211; problem\u0103 de marketing) pe un singur LUN \u015fi am purces la efectuarea de teste.<\/p>\n<p>De\u015fi pe fi\u015fa de catalog sunt trecu\u0163i parametri impresionan\u0163i (120000 IOPS \u015fi 80 microsecunde laten\u0163\u0103) din testele mele am reu\u015fit s\u0103 stresez placa numai p\u00e2n\u0103 la 40000 IOPS. Oricum diferen\u0163a fa\u0163\u0103 de performan\u0163ele ariei de discuri RAID, compus\u0103 din 6 discuri SAS de 15000 rpm \u015fi cu un cache de 512MB RAM este foarte impresionant\u0103.<\/p>\n<p>Se pare ca marele avantaj adus de RAMSAN-20 este viteza de acces la citiri \u015fi scrieri aleatorii ceea ce o recomand\u0103 utiliz\u0103rii \u00eentr-un mediu tranzac\u0163ional de intensitate mic\u0103 spre medie. Pentru aplica\u0163ii critice cu flux tranzac\u0163ional de intensitate mare se recomand\u0103 un dispozitiv SSD cu RAM, care ofer\u0103 laten\u0163e \u015fi mai mici, de ordinul a 15 microsecunde.<\/p>\n<p>Ce mai este de remarcat: RAMSAN-20 vine echipat cu dou\u0103 accesorii extrem de importante:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Supercapacitori care ofer\u0103 posibilitatea de a scrie complet datele pe mediul de stocare nevolatil la o eventual\u0103 \u00eentrerupere a aliment\u0103rii cu curent electric<\/li>\n<li>Un algoritm de scriere distribuit\u0103 \u015fi uniform\u0103 a datelor \u00een celulele flash, ceea ce asigur\u0103 un timp de via\u0163\u0103 \u00eendelungat (6 ani dac\u0103 scriem constant la vitez\u0103 maxim\u0103)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Desigur, pre\u0163ul reprezint\u0103 o barier\u0103 \u015fi m\u0103 a\u015ftept ca aceast produs s\u0103 fie utilizat numai de companii.
